ATTITUDES at the courts

Hi Everyone,
We weren't involved which is great to hear but it is a heads up for the future.

Dear Clubs, Colleges and Primary Schools

Netball Kapiti is tremendously proud of the Umpires that are placed on your players’ games.  We are working hard to develop all of our umpires, particularly our up and coming Junior Umpires.

Sadly, there has been two separate incidents on the last two playing Saturdays where two of our Junior Umpires were tormented, bullied and abused by senior players.

This is extremely disappointing to say the least.  The two umpires who were subjected to this behaviour are two of our most valued and talented umpires and to have them exposed to such disgusting behaviour where they were distraught after their games is categorically unacceptable.

If such behaviour is witnessed again by anyone towards an official, another player or spectator the person/s in question will be removed from the courts immediately.  The Netball Kapiti Disciplinary Committee will be informed and further disciplinary action may arise.

Netball Kapiti urge that you please speak to all your players/coaches etc about their conduct at the courts and that players must respect the decisions made by the umpires.  There will always be decisions players are unhappy with however players must abide by these decisions regardless of the outcome of the game.

If anyone has concerns during a game for any reason PLEASE send someone to the Control Room and an On Duty Board Member or Senior Umpire will be sent to the court.
