Last night I attended the 'Sportsperson of the Year' awards at Southwards Theatre. The calibre of athletes was amazing. I got to see many past pupils doing well in their sporting codes and beamed with pride at their achievements. I represented netball as 'official of the year' and even though I didn't win my category, Te Huinga Selby Rickit won her category and was named Sportswoman of the Year. Te Huinga is an amazing defender for the Central Pulse and Silver Ferns! Here is a photo of the netball representatives at the award ceremony.
