Hi All

Vanessa Gray, Centre Umpire Coordinator will be holding an evening with Primary School Coaches on Tuesday 12^th April at 7.00pm in the Pavillion at Te Atiawa Courts.

This evening is for all coaches this season to get up to speed with the new rules that Netball New Zealand are implementing in this year.

We would like to make this a compulsory attendance so we are assured that all coaches are up to date with the new rules.

HOLIDAY PROGRAMME - APRIL SCHOOL HOLS

Netball Kapiti Holiday Programme

Netball Kapiti will be running a holiday programme over 2 weeks in the

April school holidays.

9am - Midday

Year 4 – 8 or Ages 8 -12 years

Week 1: Smart Netball,  Defence and skills and drills	Monday 18h April	Wednesday 20th April	Friday 22nd April
Week 2: Smart Netball , Shooting, Attack and skills and drills	Wednesday 27th April	Thursday 28th April	Friday 29th of April

$75 per participant for 1 week

$125 per participant for the 2 weeks or $30 per day

The programme has been developed with age appropriate skills and fun activities in mind.

The holiday programme includes our Smart Netball programme (ACC endorsed) fun sessions learning basic netball skills such as footwork, game play, ball skills, attack, defence and shooting.  We include team building activities, games and a mini tournament each Friday.

YEAR 2 UPDATE

JUNIOR NETBALL YEAR 2 - POSTPONEMENT TO WEDNESDAY 23RD MARCH 2016.

STAR HELPER TRAINING SCHEDULED TONIGHT NOW POSTPONED - NEW DATE TO BE CONFIRMED.

To Primary Schools:-

As you are aware we were trying to run our Year 2 Junior Netball Programme in term 1 and unfortunately we are now going to postpone the programme until 23rd March 2016. This is due to the short time for yourselves to get organised and unfortunately at our end the Courts are still not at a stage where it will be safe to use them. There is still a lot of machinery around and they are just at present drilling all the tennis and netball post holes.

The 23rd March will be the first day of the programme and it will run for 4 weeks up until the April school holidays and then commence again for another 4 weeks from 4 May 2016.

Can we please have all individual registrations to us by Friday 18th March 2016.

The Star Helper Training modules will be confirmed shortly and Irene van Dyk our Zone Junior Development Officer will be the Facilitator.

Year 2 Netball! Please note; there will be no Year 1 programme this year

$50 and registration forms need to be paid and handed in to 

Waikanae School Office by 3pm Monday 22nd February so I can 

send them through to Netball Kapiti.

• ·       Cost per child $50.  Schools will be invoiced directly.
• ·       Schools may register as many Year 2 players as they want.  We have limited this programme to the Year 2’s only this year as we feel that this age group is able gain the most benefit.
• ·       Netball Kapiti will put teams together on the first day – we just require schools to provide to us the Individual Registration forms.
• ·       No uniforms please.
• ·       All equipment is supplied by Netball Kapiti.
• ·       Each school is required to have a STAR HELPER COACH per 8 individual registrations.  They will assist in supervising and coaching a team.  All STAR HELPERS are required to attend a free 1.5 hour training workshop.  Please see the dates for the STAR HELPERS workshop as STAR HELPERS must attend workshops prior to start of the programme.
• ·       STAR HELPERS maybe: Teachers, Parents, Caregivers, Older siblings at Secondary school or anyone interested in developing young players.
• ·       Junior Netball Coordinators are required to facilitate the programme.  We are seeking Coordinators and will provide all necessary training.  Please advise if your school can provide 1 Coordinator.
