Permission Slips and Trials

As many of you are aware, netball isn't a quick job and a lot of forward thought and planning goes into running our school netball in the off season.

The calendar is filling fast so I have had to decide on some dates for trials this year.  Sooooo

Year 4 Players - Future Ferns - Miss Johnson will be your coach :)
NO Trials

Year 5 and 6 Players
Wednesday 4 March, 3.15-5pm on the turf

Year 7 and 8 Players
Thursday 5 March, 3.15-5pm on the turf
A squad will be selected for Extreme and Electric and training for this squad will be 3.15-5pm Wednesday afternoons.  Start date to be advised.
Mrs Cameron will be coaching Extreme this year and Sharmane Bond will be coaching Electric.

Each player must be prepared with the correct clothing and shoes.  No earrings, nails trimmed and hair must be tied back.  I will NOT play any player who is not dressed appropriately.

I will endeavour to have teams posted on this blog and Room 10's window by 3pm Friday 6 March.

Welcome 2015

Community Coaching Modules - Click here to be taken to the coaching modules offered by Netball New Zealand.  Please note, you need to have completed the Player Centred Coaching course before attending any other modules.

Netball Kapiti will be having a 'My Team and Me' Course in March which is for primary school coaches.  I would encourage all our 2015 coaches to attend this very informative and enjoyable course.

There is also a 'Shooting' and 'Centre Pass' workshop that will be held in March (towards the end) for all primary school coaches.  Once again, this will be a great booster for all our 2015 coaches.

Please contact me on l.cameron@waikanae.school.nz if you are considering putting your hand up to coach one of our netball teams this year.

2015 Proposed calendar for Coastlands Netball Kapiti

These are proposed dates and are NOT confirmed however my goal is to keep all our netball families as up to date as possible.  I will add and adjust as necessary.  To date, I have not received any umpiring dates/information.

Please contact l.cameron@waikanae.school.nz if you can assist with the 2015 season.  I will be requiring 'Star Helpers' for the junior netball which takes place on Wednesday afternoons and Primary level coaches/managers and umpires which will train at least once a week and play on Saturdays at Te Ati Awa courts, Paraparaumu.  Thank you very much!!!

Years 1-3 = Junior netball which is non-competitive and teaches skills and drills to develop knowledge in netball.

Year 4 = Future Fern netball.  This will be the last year group to complete a season of future ferns as the concept is being fazed out by Netball New Zealand.  Full court, position rotations.

Year 5-8 = Primary netball.  Competition grades.  Full court, no rotations.
